Journal Entry #6

Journal Entry #6 I am surprised about how scary it can be to buy things online like being scammed or the website being sketchy. Paypal is like an online wallet that people can buy stuff online with. I have purchased a lot of thing online and everytime it ended up costing an arm and a leg for shipping or i got scammed by a website. I once tried to sell my dirt bike on kijiji and it was a good experience and nothing negative really happened from it. I think the biggest problem with kids and online shopping is that they are not 100% sure if that websites a scam or not like me.

Journal entry #5

Journal entry #5 Yes i considered that technology has a negative effect on not only mine but almost everyone's health and wellness, because its making us less social but most people think it makes us more social. To go walking with friends or just sit around and talk which i do a lot, also playing sports is a good one. I think the biggest problem is that kids being less social and staying on their phone all the time instead of hanging out with friends.

Journal Entry #4

Journal Entry #4 The thing i found most surprising was how strict and scary some terms and conditions are because i never read the terms and conditions and i should probably at least look over them. I don't think anyone really looks over the terms and conditions because of how long they are, i think they should because the website could screw you over. I would probably think i would be a six because i don't do anything bad i think online, but i don't read terms and conditions and stuff like that. Probably to make better passwords and read into the terms and conditions. I think the biggest problem with young kids are that they don't read into the terms and conditions, like me, and lie about some of the information their filling out.

Researching terms and conditions

Researching terms and conditions Facebook : They can use literally all of the information you give to them to put ads on your facebook to make money. Which means if you wanted to get something specific like a tv they can see that you're searching that up and play ads for it. Snapchat : Snapchat is know to be able to send “disappearing” pictures, but now has the ability to reproduce, modify as well as publish the photos you may have took and thought would never be seen again. Instagram : Instagram can use the pictures that you post on instagram and use it for anything they want if you agree to their terms and conditions. Twitter : In the terms and conditions for twitter, you have agreed to not hold twitter responsible for any fake news that is on the site. Amazon : When you sign the terms and conditions for amazon you then cannot sue Amazon which is called a arbitration clause .

Journal Entry #3

Journal Entry #3 The thing i found most surprising about digital rights and responsibility was how safe you have to be before doing almost anything on the internet. A Lot of people do not act responsibly online even i don't. People lie about their age and information all of the time on the internet as well as post things they probably shouldn't. I think the most important thing on my ten commandments is to not bully anyone on the internet because it’s easily avoidable and can cause no good. The biggest issue is probably lying about their information because i can promise you any kid that has ever had facebook or any social media that has an age requirement has lied.

Assignment: Digital Ten Commandments

Assignment: Digital Ten Commandments Thou shall not post harmful or disturbing content on the internet. Thou shall not be intentionally mean to anybody on any social media site. Thou shall not lie or be misleading about your information online. Thou shall not share personal information to anyone on social media. Thou shall not hack online to exploit or get into someones account. Thou shall not meet with anyone you meet on the internet. Thou shall not post information or videos of someone without their permission Thou shall not use other people's content and claim it to be yours. Thou shall accept what people post on their social medias Thou shall not click on ads that seem to be sketchy

Journal entry #2

Journal entry #2 The most surprising thing i found was how specific you have to be about how you email to somebody. I know that sometimes i do overuse texting but i usually don't do it very much anymore. BCC allows the sender of a message to conceal the person entered in the Bcc I think young people should make sure what they're typing is clear and makes sense so people aren't confused

Journal entry #1

Journal entry #1 The thing i found most surprising when it comes to digital security and creating passwords was how fast hackers can find out your password by using computers, even if you have something kind of weird that you wouldn't guess. The password I chose says it would take 51 years for someone to find it. I know my passwords aren't secure at all but the ones i used ive used for years so im not gonna bother changing them. The website did not give me any more information on passwords I think the most important thing to remember is to put capitals, lowercase and symbols to make it harder for people to guess it.
